The top three entries will be screened at the 2017 Piton International Film Festival.
The National Competitiveness and Productivity Council (NCPC) has launched an audio-visual competition aimed at the youth as one of the highlights of Productivity Awareness Week 2016.
At a press conference held Oct. 12, NCPC Executive Director Fiona Hinkson, detailed the importance of engaging the youth in such an activity.
“The council recognizes the youth as catalysts of innovation and change, and in the process of creative thinking, they have a special advantage when compared to other demographic groups. The NCPC therefore welcomes the youth as key stakeholders in contributing to the socio-economic wellbeing of this country," she said.
"We are pleased to be launching this competition during Productivity Awareness Week and it is in-keeping with our 2016 theme: Enhancing Competitiveness through Innovation.”
NCPC Communications Specialist Taluah Girard detailed the entry requirements of the competition.
“All youth residing in Saint Lucia are encouraged to apply. There is no minimum entry requirement, but the maximum age for participation is 25. Prizes include a tablet, a scholarship for 2-dimensional animation study, and a stationary hamper. The top three entries will be screened in the Piton International Film Festival 2017. The competition runs until Nov. 6. Entries will be accepted until midnight.”
